For nearly three years at Alto Studios, I’ve worked with venture-backed founders and executives to define their strategic narratives and build the engines that deliver them. Those have included executive ghostwriting, LinkedIn and X content systems and AI-augmented workflows trained to write in a client’s own voice. Founder-led content has replaced the press release as the way companies go to market. My job has been to make it sound like the founder, at scale. I also work as an expert evaluator of large language model outputs for AI developers.

All of that work stands on a time-tested editorial foundation. I spent eight years covering sports, with a particular focus on the NBA and basketball culture — seven years at Bleacher Report, where I rose to NBA Lead Writer, plus Complex and USA Today Sports Media Group — before co-founding CloseUp360 as Editorial Director, where I recruited, mentored and edited a distributed team of writers. Those brands are where I learned the art and the science of storytelling, especially what earns attention and what wastes it.

Along the way, I started writing about concerts and festivals for Live For Live Music in 2015, encountered my first piece of AI-generated sports content in 2016 (a moment I’ve finally begun unpacking in One Guy On AI) and picked up live music photography in 2019.

Today I also publish 2 Much Live Music, a monthly newsletter built around my concert photography, and draw the portraits behind The Charcoal Club.

Different mediums, same job: figuring out what’s worth someone’s attention and delivering it well.
